BTS Coming to India? Latest Updates Every Indian ARMY Should Know
The possibility of BTS coming to India has become a major topic among Indian ARMYs. BTS has already returned to group activities with its ARIRANG era and World Tour, while India has also been seeing stronger links with Korean popular culture.
One development has made the India discussion particularly interesting: the Indian government has officially announced an India–Korea Friendship Festival in India in 2028 as part of efforts to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. However, BTS performing at that festival has not been officially confirmed.
Is BTS Coming to India?
As of October 2026, there is no official announcement confirming a BTS concert in India.
BIGHIT MUSIC's official information for the BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ Asia & Australia dates lists cities including Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong and Bulacan. India is not included in that published list.
That means Indian ARMYs should separate confirmed information from online rumours. A social-media post, fan-made poster or unverified ticket information should not be treated as a BTS India concert announcement.
What Is the India–Korea Friendship Festival?
On 20 April 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India would organise the India–Korea Friendship Festival in 2028 to further strengthen the cultural connection between India and South Korea. In the same statement, he highlighted the growing popularity of K-pop and K-dramas in India.
The India–ROK Joint Strategic Vision also confirms plans for cultural exchange and states that an India–Korea Friendship Festival will be organised in India in 2028.
This is important for K-pop fans because the festival is part of a wider cultural relationship between India and South Korea. But the government announcement itself does not name BTS as a participating artist.
Why Indian ARMYs Are Watching This Closely
BTS has one of the world's largest global fan communities, and India has a strong and highly active ARMY community.
India's Korean cultural presence has also expanded. HYBE has established operations in India, and in 2025 the company collaborated with BookMyShow Live for Jung Kook's GOLDEN: The Moments exhibition in Mumbai. Indian entertainment coverage has described these developments as part of a growing conversation between HYBE and the Indian market.
In September 2026, India Today reported that a large K-pop festival is being explored in India, with Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Shillong among cities where venues were reportedly being considered. The report describes this as a HYBE-related development, but it does not confirm BTS as part of the lineup.
Could BTS Be Part of the India–Korea Friendship Festival?
This is where the speculation begins.
The festival provides an official platform for cultural exchange, and K-pop is specifically part of the cultural connection discussed by Indian officials.
At the same time, there is currently no official announcement from BIGHIT MUSIC, HYBE or the Indian government naming BTS for the festival.
So the situation is simple:
Confirmed: India–Korea Friendship Festival in 2028.
Confirmed: Growing India–Korea cultural cooperation.
Confirmed: BTS is active again with the ARIRANG World Tour.
Not confirmed: BTS performing in India or appearing at the Friendship Festival.
What About the Current BTS World Tour?
BTS's ARIRANG World Tour is already underway. BIGHIT MUSIC has officially announced concerts across South Korea, North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific markets. Official notices also show additional dates in cities such as Jakarta and Bulacan.
The published Asia & Australia announcement currently covers several major markets, but India is not among the announced destinations in that notice.
This does not establish what BTS may announce in the future. It only reflects the official schedule currently published.
Is Mumbai a Possible BTS Destination?
Mumbai is frequently mentioned in discussions about a potential BTS India event because it is one of India's major entertainment and concert markets.
The recent India Today report about a possible large K-pop festival specifically mentioned Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Shillong as cities where venues were reportedly being explored.
However, venue discussions for a K-pop event should not be interpreted as confirmation of a BTS concert.
When Will BTS India Tickets Go on Sale?
There are no official BTS India concert tickets on sale at present because no BTS India show has been officially announced.
When an India concert is announced, Indian ARMYs should rely on the official BTS/BIGHIT/Weverse announcement and the officially named ticketing platform. BIGHIT has repeatedly directed fans toward designated ticket sellers for ARIRANG concerts and warned against unauthorised ticket channels.
What Indian ARMYs Should Watch Next
The biggest things to watch are an official BTS India announcement, an official festival lineup, venue confirmation, ticketing information and any announcement from HYBE or BIGHIT MUSIC.
Until one of those sources names BTS, headlines such as “BTS confirmed for India” should be treated carefully.

Final Update for Indian ARMY
The excitement around BTS coming to India is understandable, especially with India's growing K-pop scene and the officially announced India–Korea Friendship Festival.
But the facts matter: the Friendship Festival is confirmed, while BTS's participation and a BTS India concert are not currently confirmed. The official ARIRANG Asia & Australia schedule also does not currently list India.
For now, Indian ARMYs have a clear reason to keep watching the news—and a very good reason to keep that purple ready. 💜
